Privacy Policy

In short

We collect only what the app needs to work and what it takes to sell you the course. We don't sell your data. We don't show ads. There isn't a single advertising tracker on this site. We treat your information the way we'd want ours to be treated.

Who we are

The Genie in Your Pocket course and geniepocket.ai are operated by individual entrepreneur OLGA SHMATOVA, identification number 306549900, address: 3 Aleqsandre Aladashvilis Qucha, Tbilisi, Georgia. We decide why and how your data is handled, which makes us the data controller. For anything at all to do with your data, write to support@geniepocket.ai.

What we know about you

When you register and take the course, we store:

  • Your email and password — so you can sign in. Your email doubles as your username
  • Your name, as you typed it when registering — so we can address you as a person rather than "user #417"
  • Your course progress — which lessons you've completed, so you can continue from the right place
  • The task you chose — the one you picked in Lesson 2, so the Teacher can give you feedback on it
  • Your messages to the Genie and the Teacher inside lessons — so the Teacher can analyse them and help you learn, and so you can look back at your own work in your dashboard
  • Housekeeping counters — how many AI messages you sent on a given day. They keep our AI bill within reason; the content of your messages never goes into a counter
  • Your purchase, if you bought the course — see "Payment" below
  • Your support message, if you sent one — see its own section below

We never ask for your address, phone number or date of birth. We don't need them.

Some of this is also kept in your own browser's storage, so your lesson survives a page refresh. That copy lives on your device, and you can wipe it yourself by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

The app sees your IP address at the moment you register or sign in — to limit how many attempts can come from one address and stop bots from creating fake accounts. We don't write it into our database.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data. Not to anyone, at any price
  • We don't show ads in the app
  • We don't track you. There is no Google Analytics here, no social-media pixel, no third-party tracker of any kind — we build no profile of what you do online
  • We don't use your messages to train AI — your texts remain yours
  • We don't read your conversations with the Genie out of curiosity. Inside a lesson they're processed automatically — that's how the Teacher works. A human can open them, since we do store them, and that happens only when there's a reason: you asked support for help and the answer needs context, or something broke and we're fixing it

Cookies: what we put in your browser

None of it is advertising. Here is the complete list:

  • A sign-in cookie. Set once you log in, it tells the app "this is you again". It lasts up to 90 days, or until you sign out. Without it there is no logging in — it isn't a preference, it's how an account works
  • An affiliate cookie. If you arrived through a creator's or partner's link, a script from FirstPromoter leaves a marker in your browser so that, if you buy the course, that partner gets their commission. It is set only on our home page and on partner links of the form geniepocket.ai/go/… — never inside the course. It doesn't read your writing and isn't used to show you ads
  • Technical cookies from our suppliers. The Paddle payment form and the Cloudflare "are you human" check may set their own cookies; without them those tools can't function

We use no advertising or profiling cookies, and we pass nothing from any cookie to an ad network.

Payment

The course is sold through Paddle. Paddle is more than a payment form: legally, Paddle is the seller (merchant of record) — it invoices you and handles the taxes.

  • You enter your card details with Paddle, not with us. The card number, expiry date and security code never reach us, not even for a moment. We can't see them and we don't store them
  • What we send Paddle: which course and which price you're buying, your discount if you have one, and your internal account number with us — so that after payment the access opens for the right person. We don't send Paddle your email: if it's needed for the receipt, you type it into their form yourself
  • What Paddle tells us after payment: the transaction number, your customer number in Paddle's system, which price was paid, the amount, the currency, the date, and the status — paid or refunded. That's what we keep: enough to know the access was bought and to process a refund properly if you ask for one
  • What Paddle knows beyond that — payment and tax details, your country, your billing address. Paddle handles those as an independent seller, under its own policy: paddle.com/legal/privacy

Your receipt arrives as a separate email from Paddle. That's expected, not a mistake.

Emails

Our emails are delivered by Resend. Your address is passed to them for the sole purpose of delivering a particular message. Resend stores data on servers in the European Union.

What you may receive:

  • a welcome message right after you register;
  • a password reset link, if you've forgotten yours;
  • a purchase confirmation, if you bought the course;
  • a reply to your support message — written by a human.

All of these are service messages: they arrive in response to something you did, and you can't unsubscribe from them — otherwise you couldn't reset a password. We don't send marketing campaigns without your separate consent.

If you write to support

When you use "Need help?" and send a message, we save the text of your message along with the lesson and the spot in the lesson you wrote from, your name and your account number. We need that context — "it won't open" is unanswerable without knowing where you were.

At the same time, an email containing your message and your address goes to the course author, so she can reply to you directly. Support messages are read by a person, not a robot.

The "are you human" check

The registration form may carry a Cloudflare Turnstile check, which tells a person from a script and protects us from floods of fake sign-ups. While it's switched on, Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical details about your browser. It doesn't read what you type into the form, and it doesn't score you as a person.

Conversations with the Genie

The Genie and the Teacher are AI, working through an external service (the Anthropic Claude API). When you write to the Genie, your text is sent to Anthropic's servers to produce a reply. Only the text goes: your name, your email and your account number are not attached to the request.

The same applies to free practice with the Genie after the course.

Anthropic does not use data sent through the API to train its models. You can read more in their privacy policy at anthropic.com.

Our legal bases

For readers in the EU and the UK, the formal version of all of the above:

  • Performance of a contract — your account, access to lessons, progress, your work, and handling purchases and refunds. Without this data there is no course
  • Legitimate interests — keeping bots and unpaid use out, answering your messages, AI usage counters, and paying partners their commission
  • Consent — any future marketing email you separately sign up for. You can withdraw it at any time
  • Legal obligation — records of sales, which anyone who sells anything is required to keep

How long we keep things

  • Your account and everything attached to it — email, name, progress, your work and your lesson conversations — for as long as your account exists. The course is bought for the long run, and we don't delete accounts just because you haven't visited in a while
  • Support messages — for as long as they're useful for remembering the history of your question; they go when your account goes, if you ask us to delete it
  • Purchase records — longer than the rest: six years after the purchase. That is how long tax law in Georgia, where we are registered, requires a seller to keep records of sales

How your data is stored

  • Your password is stored as an irreversible fingerprint — we can't read it and we won't know it, however much we'd like to. That's why we never "remind" you of a forgotten password; we help you set a new one
  • The data itself sits in a database on our hosting provider's servers (Render)
  • Only the course author and the technical team can reach that database, and only to keep the app running and to help you

Your rights

Under the EU and UK GDPR, and under the laws of Georgia, you can at any time:

  • Know what data we have about you — we'll show you
  • Correct inaccuracies — for example, if you typed your email with a mistake
  • Delete your data — see the next section for how that works in practice
  • Get a copy of your data in a portable format, so you can take it elsewhere
  • Withdraw your consent — at any time, no explanations needed
  • Object to processing — if you think we're handling data improperly
  • File a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Georgia, the Personal Data Protection Service (personaldata.ge); in the EU, your local data protection authority; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk)

To exercise any of these rights, write to support@geniepocket.ai. We usually reply within one to two business days.

Deleting your account

Write to support@geniepocket.ai from the address your account is registered to. We'll delete your account, your progress, your work and your lesson conversations, and your support messages too.

There is no "delete my account" button in the app — by design, not by neglect. Deletion irreversibly erases all your progress and all your work, so we want an email to a human being, and a little time to think, to stand between that decision and its execution. Deletion is carried out by a person, not by automation, so it isn't instant: we'll confirm that we've received your request and complete it within the period the law allows for such requests — no longer than a month, and in practice much sooner.

What stays behind, and why: the record of your purchase — transaction number, amount and date. We can't erase that; tax rules require it. It will be left with no link to your name or your email.

Age

The course is made for adults. You must be at least 18 to use the service and create an account. We do not knowingly collect children's data. If you learn that a child has created an account, write to support@geniepocket.ai and we will delete their data.

Changes to this policy

The course is alive and the app keeps changing, so this text will change too. The date at the bottom always tells you when we last touched it. If a change affects your money or your rights, we won't hide it in a date — we'll email you.

Questions

If you have questions about privacy, write to support@geniepocket.ai or click "Need help?" inside any lesson if you're already registered.
